Monday, 3rd of July – Jerusalem

On Monday we met at 8:00 in the morning at school with our luggage and waited for the bus that took us to Jerusalem. When we arrived we met our Jerusalem – Tour – Guide Maayan. Our first stop in Jerusalem was at the National Hill where we had the chance to take pictures from an observation point. The next stop was at the “Yad Vashem” Holocaust Museum. There we had a three hour tour through the exhibition. After that, at two p.m., we went back to the bus and drove to a typical Eastern restaurant in which they prepared a big table for us and where we sat and ate our lunch. For lunch we had different types of appetizers like hummus and self made bread. When we had finished, we drove to the “open house for pride and tolerance” and had a talk with a representative. From there we went to the hotel to take the rooms and get a little bit of rest. We had dinner at 7:15 pm but we had to walk to another hotel because the dinner there was supposed to be better. As everybody was finished we surprised Ilay with a birthday cake because he just turned 16 on that day. We walked all together to the old city of Jerusalem to visit the” Festival of Lights”. It was beautiful to see all the animations and the different art projects they came up with for the festival. At around 10pm we all walked back together to the hotel and spent the rest of the night in our rooms. Gaime

Impression and thoughts

The moment we started driving to Jerusalem, everybody in the bus fell asleep. Every time we came back to the bus, almost everyone fell instantly asleep again.
Walking around in the evening was really meaningful, because it was the first time we saw Jerusalem and it was crazy to see it in real life. That was because we had talked to much about this city in school, for example in history or religion class. Noah

We went to “Yad Vashem”, the Holocaust Museum. It was also about the Second World War and I didn’t expect it to be so impressive and interesting. But now I cant say that I learned from it.
At the evening we went to see the “Festival Of Lights” and then had some free time in the old city. Shahar and me got something to drink and after we had left the store, we saw that everything was over and the day came to an end. Rotem
